Topic Description:

The objectives of the course are two-fold: students will have the opportunity to improve and apply their language skills in a native setting while they explore the relevance of pre-Columbian Mayan civilization in contemporary Mexican society. Of primary interest will be the cultural traditions of Mayan society as observed in language, literature and history. This cours will familarize students with the Yucatan Peninsula and will provide them with a better understanding and appreciation of both ancient and modern Mexico.
