Studies the intersection of religious convictions and violence at the crossroads of European history in the light of the social theories of Rene Girard and others. It will study the Hussite rebellion and its suppression, the Ottoman Turkish invasion and occupation, the Reformation and Counter-Reformation conflict, the Holocaust and the role of the Catholic Church is the Solidarity movement which undermined Polish Communism.
