The focus on inquiry in this course is: “Who governs American cities?” The course is designed to provide an overview of the characteristics and functions of city government in the United States. The course will explore how politics and power work together to shape property values, public goods, and land use policies in American cities. The course will require students to apply these lessons in an intensive city politics simulation that will take place in the hypothetical city of Camelot.
