Topic Description:

What is the impact of food and tourism on the environment, society, and the economy? How can food and tourism be done sustainably? In this intensive learning course, we will visit and interview organizations involved in agritourism and sustainability work. We will also participate in the programs and activities these organizations offer, which may include walking tours, eco farming, boat tours, snorkeling, or picnics. Assignments include a field journal, travel blog entries, and interviews; for our course project, we will partner with a small sustainable farm to develop a community engagement plan.
