Topic Description:

How do cultural differences between China and the U.S. result in different business practices? By traveling to different businesses in China, students will learn how business is conducted in various types of organizations. Our travels in China will take us to different types of business including: Yangshan Port, an aircraft manufacturing factory, a VW plant, an organic farm, retail/concession areas, a tea plantation, organic farm, Shanghai R&D Center, and VW Plant. We will also have lectures by Chinese Business people on Shanghai’s Free Trade Zone, Chinese Consumers, and a lecture by Adam Minter on the International Scrap Business.
