INQ-270 | The Quest
Full Title: The Quest--From Gilgamesh to Indiana Jones
Topic Description:
From the earliest literature in Western civilization to the present, humans have been in search of something. This quest has included the search for immortality, for self, for love, for fame, for knowledge, for riches, and for revenge. What do you seek in your life? What motivates you? What are your goals? How do you want to be remembered? In order to find the answers to these questions, we will examine the idea of the quest in The Epic of Gilgamesh, Homer's Odyssey, Wolfram von Eschenbach's Parzival, The Nibelungenlied, , and several authors' interpretations of Doktor Johann Faust. Additionally we will evaluate a modern day interpretation of a quest in Rob MacGregor's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
