INQ-177 | Yoga History, Philosophy, and Foundations

Topic Description:

What is yoga? What is the goal of yoga and what can it mean to you in your everyday life? This course is designed to allow students to explore the history, philosophy, and practice of yoga while also gaining fundamental knowledge and physical practice in pranayama (breath), postures (asana), and meditation. Students will experience and practice several types of yoga including restorative, yin, vinyasa, and Ashtanga yoga. Upon completion of this course, students will have a better understanding of the history and philosophy of yoga, gain experience practicing different forms of yoga, and have the knowledge to incorporate a yoga practice into their everyday life. This course is for anyone interested in learning more about yoga. Prior yoga experience is not needed.
