INQ-177 | What's in Your Head? Exploring the Psyche through Film

Topic Description:

How many media portrayals have you come across that depict psychological struggles or disorders? Do you think these states are accurately and sensitively covered? This class is designed to familiarize ourselves with relevant context about certain topics (for example: memory/memory loss, sociopathy, substance use/abuse, response to nervous system damage, social responsibility) when we meet during the morning sessions. Afternoon sessions will be primarily devoted to watching selected movies portraying these topics. You should expect to engage with the material through in-class discussions, writing critical reflections, and developing your own pitch for a movie.

Course Types Offered: On-Campus

Topic Approved: April 2024
