We will explore plagues in human history and reflect on the appearance of drug-resistance in microorganisms. Students will learn the biology, history, politics, and potential modern significance of diseases, such as plague, tuberculosis, yellow fever, influenza, cholera and the real danger of the emergence of novel pathogens.Â
