INQ-177 | Dylan Thomas and Under Milk Wood.
Topic Description:
By the time he drank himself to death at the age of 39, Dylan Thomas had written some of the most influential poetry, stories, and plays of any writer in the twentieth-century. Without Thomas, Bob Dylan would have been simply Robert Zimmerman, and works like “Howl” and On the Road might never have been written. Combining strong images, heady ideas, and powerful language, Thomas wrote works that inspire, challenge, and entertains us even today. In this course, students will study and discuss his poems and stories, while preparing and recording a production of Under Milk Wood, Thomas’s famous radio play. Acting ability not required, just a willingness to engage in lively discussion and explore the works of Wales’ most famous writer!
