INQ-177 | Connections: Art and Math

Topic Description:

Provides evidence of the many connections that exist between the arts and mathematics. The student will study the impact of mathematical tools such as the compass, straight edge, camera obscura, and the computer on the evolution of art. The inclusion of mathematical concepts such as transformation, symmetry, proportion, and perspective in the creation of art will also be studied. Ultimately it is hoped that the student can, in fact, find beauty in mathematics and art.
