HNRS-260CO | Interpersonal Communication
Full Title: Interpersonal Communication
Topic Description:
Ever wonder what the secrets to a “great relationship” are? Do you contemplate what you will look back on and cherish in your life when you are in your golden years? Interpersonal communication is likely the answer to both of these questions. Thus, in this course, we will explore the communication concepts, theories, and methods of studying relational communication that lead us (as everyday people and scholars) to better understand what makes the relationships in our lives fulfilling, meaningful, and great. Students will be asked to explore the communication in their own relationships, observe and contemplate the communication in relationships around them, and seek to make connections between these real-life experiences to existing communication literature and research. Students will connect with a community member beyond Roanoke College, as well as with Roanoke College peers as they embark upon this interpersonal communication focused line of inquiry.
